![]() It there mount is not star aligned, or if the mount is not east-west leveled, you have an additional error in terms of Meridian flips occurring at the wrong times and you may hit the mounts Meridian limit at the proper time to protect your instrument. But, after a GOTO, it may not point right at the star that you requested. ![]() The mount should always respond to a GOTO command unless you have set a Horizon Limit and if not properly Polar Aligned, stars near the horizon might appear to the mount as being below horizon. It depends on your definition of "work." :-) And I assume you mean "Polar Align," right? Ramsay Must you do a PA to get the GoTo to work? With your particular mount, be sure to do a Star Alignment before attempting to connect ASIAIR to it in the Telescope Setup window. If that time is correct, you are in good shape and all that is faulty is probably just the GUI. Check the time that ASIAIR tells you when it will start a meridian flip. Now set up an AutoRun session with that star. ASIAIR has a long standing bug where it does not automatically update the coordinates. If the GOTO is approximately correct (be ready to pounce on the mount in case it starts to slew to the ground) do the next two steps to confirm if mount and ASIAIR times are in agreement.Ĭheck the mount's RA in Telescope Setup window - again, you need to leave the Telescope Setup window and re-select it. If it still shows time zero, you can do an acid test to see if the time is correct, GOTO a star that is an couple of hours east of the Meridian. ![]() Or, it may just be a GUI bug - try exiting the Telescope Setup window and then re-selecting the window to see if it refreshes to a correct time. What you see could be the result that ASIAIR has not establish proper connection to the mount. I have also replaced the CR-2032 button cell in the AVX mount and have tried using both the RTC and or entering the time manually, this makes no difference as the time is still wrong.ĪSIAIR probably initializes its time to zero before trying to fetch the time from the mount. ![]() Celestrons CPWI 2.3.5 also works without a problem, as does Starry Night Pro Plus Note that Sky Safari - does not seem to have a problem with my AVX mount and the goto on that app works. ![]()
